Our Containers

The “brand new” containers are the containers empty positioned from factories .This category includes 6’, 8’ and 10’ storage units,20’ and 40’ Open Tops, 20’ and 40’ Flat Racks, 40' Open Side, 20’ and 40’ High Cube Reefers (standard or “Polar”), 20’ Tanks as well as all accommodation or other special or converted containers. These units have a CSC plate valid for 5 years from their manufacturing date. As a rule,all containers used for international transport must be fitted with a valid safety approval plate (the CSC Plate).

The “one trip” containers are the containers positioned with cargo  to Sogeco’s worldwide markets through a dedicated sea or rail voyage  (latter for 40’  dry vans only). This category of containers is  therefore used only for a few weeks before being returned to our nominated depots and includes all Dry Vans (20’,40’standard or High Cube), Double Door or "Tunnel" containers (20’,40’ Standard or High Cube)  and Open Side containers (20’ and 20’ High Cube). These units have a CSC plate valid for 5 years from their manufacturing date.

The “Cargo Worthy” containers  ,also known as “old containers”,“second hand containers”,”last trip containers ”,”last voyage containers”,”sea worthy containers”, “ wind and water tight containers (WWT) ”… are  the containers used for a few or several years.Sogeco has graded its used containers for sale or lease as “Cargo Worthy”,”Cargo Worthy Selection” and “Cargo Worthy Selection Plus” based on containers’ age  and their structural and cosmetic condition. These units ,upon request ,come with  CSC plate and relevant certificate issued by the  Classification Society  valid for 12 months from the date of issuance. Upon customer’s request,Sogeco customizes sold containers in Sogeco’s depots in Genoa,Milan and Venice and delivers them to customer’s premises by standard or self sustained truck.
